Intro

RAPT Therapeutics is a clinical stage immunology-based biopharmaceutical company.

They are focused on discovering, developing, and commercializing oral small-molecule therapies for patients with significant unmet needs in inflammatory diseases and cancer.

Challenge

Two different diseases. Two different videos.

One drug platform that has a unique Mechanism of Action for each disease.

That was the challenge given to us by the science team at RAPT Therapeutics. We added an internal challenge; make each video seem cut from the same cloth but wholly different and unique.

But there was one more challenge. It’s a hurdle we have to jump over for every project. Understand the science and then come up with an innovative way to tell that story. Scientists don’t come hand us a script and say “just run with it”. From script to screen we do all the heavy lifting so our client’s can focus on doing what they do best…finding solutions to today’s most pressing scientific and medical problems.

RPT193 is a small molecule CCR4 antagonist for the treatment of Atopic Dermatitis. It blocks the recruitment of inflammatory immune cells in order to reduce skin inflammation. Rather than currently available injectable treatments, RPT 193 is a daily oral medication that offers the promise of safe, prolonged effects for patients.

Solution

Whether for cancer or atopic dermatitis, we first conveyed, to RAPT’s scientific, investor and lay audience, the challenges in treating cancer or other inflammatory diseases.

Basically, when a patient suffering from Eczema gets itchy, or when some cancer treatments are hard to fight, it may be due to inflammation.

Instead of doing hyper-realistic 3D animation, we employed a hybrid combination of 2D and 3D animation. This not only made the look of the videos very unique, it also made the project go faster and be more cost-effective. A 2D/3D animation combo allowed us to create two unique videos in the time it would normally take to make one. From character animation to spherical 3D representation of FLX 475 and RPT 193 to a classical music score and distinctively international flair, these well-received videos helped RAPT stand out from their competition and from many far less engaging MOA videos.
